Follow your child's development in a fun way
Del

You probably remember from your own childhood that it was fun to have a way to track your growth. Younger siblings could tease older ones as they approached their height, and visiting friends could determine who was the tallest. Some choose to measure height by simply drawing lines on a wall at home, but this is not a viable solution. If you live in a rented apartment, it's not allowed, and frankly, pencil marks on the living room wall don't look good. When your children get older, they might also not appreciate all guests passing a height chart that shows little sister is taller than big brother or something similar.

A colorful poster
At Villavejen, you'll find a wide selection of height charts that help you keep track of your child's height in a practical and personal way. The simplest solution is to buy one of our posters, which, in addition to a colorful motif and a sweet quote on one side, has an enlarged ruler on the other side. All you need to do is measure so that the chart hangs at the correct height according to what is on the poster. On the poster, you can discreetly mark with a marker or with stickers with small numbers, your child's height at different ages. The clever thing about this solution is that it can easily be used for multiple children, and it's easy to take with you if, for example, you move, or the child goes from sharing a room to getting their own.

Height chart that grows on the wall
If you want to keep the children's room in neutral colors, you can choose a height chart in oak veneer. These are also available in other colors if you have a specific theme in mind. With the oak veneer height chart, you decide the design. The height chart consists of a stack of small oak veneer plates in a shape you choose from the assortment, stating "1 year," "2 years," and so on. The idea is that every year, most obviously on the child's birthday, you measure their height and hang a plate on the wall. Thus, the plate doesn't state the child's exact height, but you can, in collaboration with the child, decide whether the plates should hang in a straight line, go diagonally upwards, or form another fun shape you can decide on yourselves.

Fits well with the children's room decor
In addition to hanging the height chart in a different, imaginative way, you and your child can choose which outline you prefer for the plates. You can choose a mask if the children's room is actually a headquarters for a strong superhero, a butterfly for the flower child, or simply a heart for the golden nugget. This allows you to choose a design that specifically matches the room's theme, or decide on a shape that is more neutral and appeals to all children. For example, the cloud-shaped height chart is something most children will like, whether they dream of walking on the moon or flying to Mauritius.

Mark life's milestones
The oak veneer plates are also available in a hexagonal shape, which is the same size as the design plates we sell here at Villavejen. The design plates show milestones from your child's life, such as time of birth, weight and height, zodiac sign, when the child got their first tooth or learned to crawl and walk. You can also get design plates that highlight family interests or a plate with the child's name. Names of other family members can serve as a dynamic family tree on the wall, where it is ideal to hang pictures next to the names, so that the small school children, for example, can learn to spell grandma's name themselves. The height chart fits excellently into this context, showing your child's development in many areas, and there is no doubt that your child will greatly enjoy having a beautiful wall with his or her own history in their room. It will undoubtedly lead to some fun conversations at home when the child can show guests their beautiful wall and then ask them what their zodiac sign is?

A height chart provides good body awareness
Having a fun height chart on the wall can help your child understand their own body better. On a daily basis, you don't feel yourself growing bigger and perhaps soon starting school. With the height chart, you can clearly see that something is happening, even though it may seem like magic that mom and dad come up with. If your child is lucky enough to have younger siblings, it's much easier to explain that little brother or sister is inside mom's tummy and actually has enough room for mischief and antics when you can point to the wall and see how small you were at birth. When the little one comes into the world, big sister will surely have fun guessing what numbers should be on the baby's design plates on the wall, and where the other height chart should hang.
Furnish a play corner in the living room
You can create your very own words and sentences with our texts and letters – only imagination limits what will be on the wall in your home. Many of our customers have expressed their creativity with our texts and, for example, written 'play corner' on the wall. This allows you to dedicate a corner, for example, in the living room, to play and fun, so your child knows where play is allowed and where there should be space for adult cozy time. It is both beautiful and decorative to look at, but also serves a practical purpose. You can also use our texts in the hallway, along with our many different hooks, so you can create a wardrobe for your little superhero or princess. This way, it will undoubtedly be more fun to hang up your jacket when you come home. Essentially, our texts and letters can both function as decorative items in the home, but also have a practical purpose.
And who says that only children can have texts and quotes hanging in their room? Many of our customers also create their very own and unique quotes and place them in the kitchen and bedroom – so quotes and texts are not just for children!
Unleash your imagination on the wall
When your child one day reaches an age where it's no longer fun to keep track of their height because it doesn't change, you can easily keep your height chart. You can choose to let it hang on the wall as a personal work of art that tells your child's story, or you can let it mark something entirely new. If you've chosen a heart shape for the height chart, it's ideal for marking how long mom and dad have been married, but it can just as well be used to show how old the crooked cactus on the windowsill is, or something else silly you come up with. In other words, there are no limits to how the height chart can be used, and only your imagination or free wall space sets the boundary.
